On September 8th, 2024, Manchester's progressive/alternative rock band Fates Hollow took the stage at Lock 91 in Manchester City Centre to celebrate the launch of their debut album. Supported by two stellar opening acts, Mines and Apparita, the night was a thrilling display of emerging talent. A huge thank you to vocalist Reece Warburton for inviting us to witness this special moment—it was an unforgettable experience.
Fates Hollow dropped their debut album, The Heir Apparition - Broken Crowns Part I, on September 3rd, 2024. With their second single already surpassing 5,000 listeners and their debut single crossing 2,000 plays, the band is rapidly gaining momentum, now boasting 262 monthly listeners on Spotify. This is no small feat for a group just starting to make their mark.
While their recorded tracks are already a testament to their creativity and musicianship, their live performance took things to another level. Fates Hollow know how to captivate an audience, and despite the venue’s intimate size, they made sure everyone was involved—especially with fan favourites from their album.
The band’s professionalism shone through, even when faced with technical hiccups. During their dramatic opening, they managed to trip the stage’s electrics just moments into their first song. But instead of letting it derail them, they turned the mishap into a lighthearted moment, bantering with the crowd and keeping the energy high while the crew worked to resolve the issue. Once everything was back in order, they started over and delivered a flawless set. Not a single note or lyric faltered, and the joy on each member’s face was palpable as they performed.
This was one of those rare nights where the music was so immersive, I barely took any photos. I was completely absorbed in the atmosphere, feeling like I was part of something extraordinary. It truly was a special evening.
To top it all off, Fates Hollow treated the audience to a preview of their next album, The Heir Apparition Part II. While no release date has been confirmed, if the teaser track is anything to go by, it’s going to be nothing short of spectacular.
If you ever have the chance to see Fates Hollow live, don’t hesitate. You won’t regret it.
