Novacaine is saddened to hear that our friends over at Shadow Smile have announced that they are breaking up as of today.
Shadow Smile shared this on Facebook at 7:00am on 7th June 2024:
Announcement from Shadow Smile
After five incredible years, it’s time to close the coffin lid on the band that has been our lives.
This has been a truly incredible ride and we are so appreciative of every one who has been to a show, streamed our music, bought merch or supported the band in any way.
All shows except Steel Paws Festival will now be cancelled and refunds issued. We will be celebrating with you one last time on our home turf.
We are truly sorry to anyone who is let down by the cancellations but we feel this is the right thing to do for us at this time.
The music remains and we hope you keep listening. Writing and recording these songs has been a labour of love and it has meant so much that they have resonated with you.
Lastly, thank you to Eve for all the support in running the band and to Dan for always being there to help bring our vision to life.
We love you.
SHADOW SMILE
2019-2024
We have been working with Shadow Smile since the release of their 'Unholy Trinity' EP in 2019, helping to both promote their music and manage their website, www.ShadowSmile.world. The band have also been supporting us and have given us many opportunities over the years, such as merch collaborations when we had our merch store and inviting us as special guests to their gigs in both Sheffield and Manchester. We appreciate everything that this band has done over the years, not just for us but also for the way they have been operating as a band. They've shown everyone that it is possible to do things independently as an artist, from booking their own tours to crowdfunding their own debut album.
Shadow Smile wasn't just another metal band from England, it was a community that they had worked so hard to build over the last 5 years, and for an independent artist to build something like that is a feat that they should be proud of.
Shadow Smile's last live performance will be held at the Steel Paws Festival in October, we will also likely be attending, but we do hope that eventually we do see the return of the all mighty Shadow Smile in the near future.
Thank you again to Shadow Smile for their support and for sharing their dedication to music with the world over the last 5 years. It has been a pleasure.
