A red demon with horns and flames, surrounded by scared apes and a man. Text: "EVOLUTION DEAD DEMONS," "RELEASE DATE 28TH MARCH," Spotify logo.

"Assembled on a cold winter's night, late 2019 in the shadows of an apocalyptic South Yorkshire..."

This is the greeting hosted on Dead Demon's own Spotify, and those big boots have never been more perfectly filled than with the release of their latest single, Evolution. After a little time away from the scene, what a way to burst back to the surface with not only an incredible new track, but also one that puts the talent of their new vocalist, Paul Lowson, on full display. What a power move to open this one with a beat that promises to give the song a powerful heartbeat, but also a flawlessly executed high-note.

Dead Demons' latest release, 'Evolution'

With all the essence of their past releases - addictive riffs and catching beats - plus Paul's fresh, powerful vocals that truly come from the chest, the rising heavy rockers grace us with a little sprinkle of glam metal, constructing the perfect medley of power ballad and rock anthem that you can both sink your teeth into and get lost in.

Crafting lyrics that draw you along the story of Evolution, we witness a tale of the relentlessness of time, overcoming setbacks and remaining steadfast in the face of fate's heavy hand. Rather than honing in on the refusal to release past ways and old traditions, Evolution leans into its name and speaks up about the need to adapt to survive, that nothing becomes better by staying the same.

Dead Demons' own Chris Weatherall says regarding the track:

" Evolution was written about the band, as members leave things change... creating an inevitable evolution process."

Tying in the changing of tides with the release of Evolution has absolutely made their return to the scene stellar, accompanied by some cult-classic art (that I can definitely picture doing well on t-shirts and hoodies, nudge nudge). I'm so excited to hear more from Dead Demons in this new, evolved vein built from the DNA of their pre-2023 releases, and I highly recommend you stick their tracklist on shuffle to get the full scope of their talent.

With each step, Dead Demons march forward to bigger and better things, and that only makes us here at Novacaine even more stoked about having them perform on our stage later this year, promising to bring power and pleasure.
