Progressive Rock Act, Fates Hollow, have unveiled their new haunting music video for 'Evil Things' taken from their debut album 'The Heir Apparition Part 1: Broken Crowns' which was released on 3rd September 2024.
Fates Hollow shared with us about what the track 'Evil Things' is all about:
"This is the natural continuation of Child Of Fortune and the totally avoidable repercussions of Elos' choice to sneak out of the palace. Certain people have been waiting for an opportunity like this, and Elo finds himself kidnapped and tortured for information on his Father. Lyrically, this song was inspired by 1980s slasher movies. When recording the vocals for this track I had Freddy Krueger in my head, I was trying to sort of sing through him, as silly as that might sound. In the Nightmare series, Freddy had this really horrible way of letting people know he was in control, but he was almost romantic with it at times. It's very uncomfortable and very suggestive, but that's what the song needed. Its deeply fucked up."
Fates Hollow's debut album release was, and continues to be, absolutely stunning. Experiencing them perform it live has been one of my top highlights of 2024. ‘Evil Things’ stands out as one of my favourite tracks, so seeing it brought to life in a standalone music video—capturing the raw creativity and dark story behind the song—has only deepened my appreciation for their work.
You can catch Fates Hollow perform live alongside the likes of The Five Hundred, Bleed Again and Saints Among Us + many more at Novacaine Festival 2025 (Get Tickets)
