Pennsylvanian very own legendary heavy metal act, Motionless in White, dropped their brand new single 'Cyberhex' on 11th March 2022 and announced they will be releasing a brand new album 'Scoring The End Of The World' on 10th June 2022.
Motionless in White released their critically acclaimed album 'Disguise' in 2019 which featured some of the bands most popular tracks such as 'Another Life', 'Brand New Numb' and my personal favourite 'Thoughts & Prayers'. Now the band are back with a killer new track 'Cyberhex' and have already announced they have a lot more to come with their upcoming album 'Scoring The End Of The World in June 2022.
First Impressions
As a long time Motionless in White fan, all I can say is what in the holy ghost was that? That was absolutely incredible. I'm struggling to put into words how I feel about this track, from the minute it began I knew it was going to be brutal and I was right, but not in the usual Motionless in White fashion, they have clearly been working on expanding their sound and they have smashed it out of the park.
CYBERHEX
Motionless in White have always had 'techno' influences, more so in their 2019 album 'Disguise' but they clearly have taken further inspiration from the genre, they've somehow 'digitalised' their sound but they have not lost the unique MIW sound at all, in fact I'd go as far to say these guys have massively improved their sound, moving towards a direction that I personally feel will skyrocket the band like never before.
CYBERHEX is certainly up there as one of the bands best tracks to-date, and I may have been saying this a lot recently in my reviews, but something has happened over the last year or so. We are seeing more and more bands expanding their sounds, taking that step to experiment with different sounds & techniques whilst also ensuring that they're incorporating their original sounds, and that is exactly what MIW has done with Cyberhex. They've listened to their audience and are now ready to take it to the next level, and I for one am super excited.
This track features everything you want from Motionless in White, filthy growls, demonic screams and breakdowns that pound enough to fire you into space.
I also want to comment on how far Chris Motionless has come with his vocals ever since the bands debut album release of 'Creatures' in 2010, he clearly has been working on his clean vocals & even more on those incredible screams, he sounds much more confident and is giving it his all in this new track and all that hard work has clearly paid off, I could not be more proud of a man I've never met even if I tried.
The Final Score
"Motionless in White are back with a brutal new track and with a new album on the way, we think this may be the album that skyrockets them like never before" - Rock Lifestyle UK
